Network

Although my career is in IT, I came from a comercial IT background originally, upon finishing school, I completed an apprentiship with British Telecom as a field service engineer, working on telegraph poles and in wet footway boxes. After two years I was selected to become a Broadband Engineer, and Kings Hill was one of my main areas.

After only a year with BT Broadband Repair & Provision I felt ready for a new challenge and a local IT company gave me the opportunity I was looking for. Although I began my post with them in the Sales Department, it soon became clear that my expertise was in support and as a result that is the path my career took.

Six months later my fiancee had our first baby and after a short time I felt I wanted to be at home with my family more often, incidently I decided to apply for the position of Network Manager at Kings Hill School.

Manager

My role enables me to be involved in the long term development of ICT in school, as well as supporting most school productions, helping to produce the year 6 leavers DVD, photography at school, and supporting all staff in training, resourcing and ICT lessons.

My fiancee and I have three wonderful children, Kajay (5)Xander (4) and Lucan (<1) who keep us extremely busy. I am extremely dedicated to my role here and to supporting the children and staff at Kings Hill.

In the Last 18 Months I have been developing support relationships with other local schools, taking my expertise in ICT support to them, and working with the ICT co-ordinator here, bringing back new ways of embedding ICT into the Curriculum.

As I begin what is to be my sixth year at Kings Hill I look forward to many years to come.
