Giraffe Class
Lucie Goss
l.goss@kings-hill.kent.sch.uk--I am currently a teacher in Year one, teaching Giraffe Class. I have been at Kings Hill School for four years during which I have taught in Reception also.
I specialise in the early years and therefore, I am most comfortable teaching Reception & Year one and this is where my passion lies. I came to Kings Hill School after a career change in 2007 and thoroughly enjoy the challenge that teaching brings. I also have various responsibilities within school.
I am the Lower School Phase leader and therefore, over see the day to day running of Reception and Year one and work closely with the teachers in these year groups to ensure the children are happy, engaged and enthusiastic to learn as well as the staff! In partnership with this role I am also the Early Years co-ordinator, which involves meeting prospective parents, visiting nurseries, transition for Reception and Year one children, curriculum access and much more.
I enjoy socialising with friends and family and I am really looking forward to the new direction that awaits me in life with the expected arrival of my first child in April 2011. Much of my own time is currently taken up with ‘baby’ talk and I plan to take maternity leave from 21st of March 2011. Before I know it I’ll be back!

Since returning from Maternity Leave last Spring, I have been teaching in Year 1, which I love! I have been teaching for about 16 years and at Kings Hill for nearly 13 of those. I have had various roles in school but am currently Literacy Coordinator and part-time phase leader. Prior to teaching at Kings Hill, I began my teaching career in Rochester after completing a BA in History at Nottingham University and a PGCE in York. I always wanted to return to Kent where I grew up.
Outside of teaching, I spend most of my time looking after my 2 children, Anna and George, which keeps me very busy! They have also inspired me with my latest hobby, cake decorating, as I felt the pressure of producing something a bit more impressive for each passing birthdayAly Mckeea.mckee@kings-hill.kent.sch.uk-- I am currently working in Yr 1 and have been for the last 3 years, previously worked in years 3 and 4. I am also doing childminding before and after school for Kings Hill children. (glutton for

I can’t believe I’ve been at Kings-Hill for 7 years.I’ve taught in year 1, 5 and 4 here and have experience in every year group in schools in Portsmouth, Southampton, Bromley and Hildenborough. My life is pretty hectic as I have 3 children aged 3, 7 & 9, so when I’m not running after 30 children, I’m the taxi to brownies! In a previous life before kids, I worked in the city, worked for a marketing company and worked in an outdoor activity centre on Snowdonia with children of all ages and abilities.
On the very odd occasion I get a moment to myself I love to read a book or take my family to the Lake District.

I Joined Kings Hill School in December 2008 as a M.D.S. (Mid Day Supervisor) and ran the fruit tuck shop. In 2009 I started working part time in a reception class, and have never looked back.
