Post War Britain

Year 6 have been learning about Britain since World War 2. We have been finding out about the introduction of the Welfare State, the end of rationing and the space race. We will design and build a Lunar landing craft or buggy in the last week of term.

During our Literacy Unit we have written biographies of influential personalities who contributed to British society after the war up to the present day.

As part of our studies, we have also been finding out about the fashion in clothes over the recent decades and have had a go at reproducing them on paper.

We have also given our talented artists the opportunity to try drawing and painting in the style of one of our most famous artists, L.S Lowry and to create an eye-catching 'op art' pattern.
