Sex and Relationship Education
At Kings Hill School we acknowledge the importance of Sex and Relationship Education (SRE) in the curriculum as an important element in preparing our pupils for the transition in to adult life.
The SRE programme aims to inform children about a variety of issues including relationships, growing up, emotions, sexuality and well-being. The provision of SRE within the school uses the channel 4 series 'Living and Growing' to deliver the curriculum. This series gives a structured education which develops knowledge and understanding from Year 1 through to Year 6.
The video clips that we use as part of our SRE teaching are shown below.
Year 1 watch the 'Differences' film up to 6 minutes and 1 second.
Year 2 watch the 'Differences' film up to 7 minutes 49 seconds
Year 3 watch the 'Differences' film all the way to the end
Year 4 watch 'How did I get here' and 'Growing up'
Year 5 watch 'Changes', 'How babies are made' , 'How babies are born'
Year 6 watch 'Boy Talk', 'Girl Talk' and ' Let's talk about sex is up to you'
