Kings Hill School Friends (KHSF) is a registered charity that is made up of parents, grandparents and members of staff associated with the school. We are a very mixed and interesting group. The current PTA includes Project Managers, PA’s, Midday Supervisors, Scientists, Psychologists, Childminders, Event Managers, Stay At Home Parents, Fitness Trainers, Property Developers, Cake Makers, Retirees, Business Owners and more!

The current PTA (KHSF) are:-

Louise Rosener – Chair

Amanda Hennessy – Vice Chair

Katie Dodsworth – Treasurer

Jayne Barnes – Secretary

They can be contacted by email at pta@kings-hill.kent.sch.uk or come and find one of us in the playground or if you’re able to attend our monthly meetings.

We are currently recruiting for new members to join the KHSF. Please see the flyer attached here

What do we do?

We raise money by organising fundraising events throughout the year. In recent years our calendar of fundraising activities has included Sponsored Fun Runs, Halloween & Easter Raffles, Christmas Cards, Christmas Fayre, Bags 2 School, Quiz Nights, Family Discos, 80’s Nights, Summer Fetes, Cake Raffles and Summer Ball.

We also help out at school events, such as serving refreshments at open days and school plays, and we run “Secrets rooms” for the children to buy gifts for Christmas, Mothers’ Day & Fathers’ Day.

Where does the money go?

All proceeds go towards the school. In the past 12 months we have funded digital cameras for every class, recording software, tablets and tutorials for new music studio, a production of Jungle Book, subsidized school trips, new key texts, mountain bikes and helmets, equipment for the cookery club, year 6 leavers’ party and presents and more!

What will you get out of joining the KHSF?

An opportunity of understanding the school and its targets for our children

Feeling part of the school community

Having fun and making friends

Opportunities to get involved in events with the children which are behind the scenes with our children i.e. fun run and secrets room.

How much time does it take up?

Again this depends on you. We meet once a month as the large committee and as and when events come up we then divide off into sub committees who then meet more often in the run up to those events.  If you are not able to attend in person but can participate with behind the scenes activities that is great too.  All volunteering time and activities are great contributions which are always welcome to the KHSFs.  Most of the current volunteers work and we all support each other in fitting PTA activities around day to day life.
